A teddy bear is not just a stuffed toy – it is a symbol of love, a sense of security and a happy childhood. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world, children don’t have the opportunity to feel this carefree feeling every day. That’s why we have created the New Home for Teddy Bear campaign, which allows you to transform your old toys and educational aids into a beacon of hope for the youngest inhabitants of The Gambia.

How does it work?

We started this initiative with a simple goal: to provide needy children with what is often missing from their daily lives – toys that make them smile and educational tools that help them grow and learn.

Everyone can take part in three ways:

• Donate teddy bears – you can donate both new and used teddy bears that are no longer needed. They just need to be in good condition and ready for a new adventure.
• Donate educational aids – we collect durable, useful materials that children can use at school and at home (list of items below).
• Help financially – every donation helps to cover the transport and organisation costs of the campaign.

What do we collect?

The basis of our campaign is teddy bears – both new and used – which can find a new home. Each teddy bear, doll or other stuffed toy can become a symbol of love, support and a sense of security for a child. We encourage you to donate those that are no longer needed in your homes, but can still bring joy to others.

In addition, we are also collecting educational aids, including:

• educational books in English,
• durable educational toys and games (preferably wooden),
• beads and accessories for creative play,
• balls and reflectors,
• colouring books, English dictionaries, crayons, pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, scissors, backpacks.

Please avoid items that are perishable and dry out quickly, such as markers, glue or other items with a short shelf life. We are committed to ensuring that the donations provided will last a long time for children in difficult circumstances.
